In the summer of 1992 at the age of 23 Dan was invited to attend a church retreat where he was introduced to the gospel and became radically captivated by Christ and the remarkably authentic and Biblical community of believers he met. This experience led to a number of transformations in his life.

Dan returned to college to prepare for pastoral ministry. He received a BA in Sociology from Greensboro College and began seminary at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. During that time he served as an assistant to the Pastor and Youth Pastor at a large church in Asheboro. And then on the Leadership team and held various teaching roles and ministry positions at a new church plant in Lexington, before joining with others to plant a church in the Thomasville community.
Dan has a great passion for the church and to see her become a biblically functioning community, whole and holy in every way.
Brent Everhart grew into a position as Worship Leader shortly after his family joined with a few others to plant Wellspring in 2000. A garage band musician and All-state trumpet player as a youth turned out to be an unexpected preparation for him to assume this role at Wellspring. And God has chosen to keep him there since those early years of Wellspring. Brent has four children between the ages of 13 and 23. And to earn a living and support his church habit he is a full time sales engineer for professional sound, lighting and video systems.
He came to know the saving grace of Jesus around the age of 18 and has been steadily growing in his faith in the many years since then. His faith in Jesus and his love for people, music and the church culminate at Wellspring Community Church.
