our core beliefs

The doctoral statement below reflects what Wellspring members believe. Our teaching holds to these statements.

god the father

We believe in God the Father, who has no beginning or end. He created all things and is faithful to fulfill all of His promises. He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (ever present). His character is consistent, holy, just, and loving.
Colossians 1:16-17Deuteronomy 33:27Revelation 1:8

god the son

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's son, who, being fully man and fully God lived a perfect life, yet despite his innocence was crucified and, on the third day, rose. We believe that through this act of sacrifice, Christ defeated death and opened the door for humanity to be forgiven and reconciled with God, and that belief in Jesus is the only path to salvation.
John 1:1; 14; 18; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24-26; 4:25; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Timothy 2:5

SANCTIFICATION

We believe that faith in Jesus Christ is only the first step of the journey with God. As we walk in community, God continually transforms us so that our character becomes like that of Jesus. We are called to obediently walk with God daily and be immersed in biblical relationships full of truth and grace.

Galatians 5:16-24; Romans 12:1-21 Peter 1:14-16

MANHOOD, WOMANHOOD, & marriage

We believe God's design for manhood, womanhood, and marriage is perfect and is clearly outlined for us in the Scriptures.  Men and women are made in the image of God and have complementary roles in the church and in the home. Marriage is a sacred institution created by God for His glory, designed for one man and one woman.
The Danvers Statement serves as an overview of our beliefs.
